Terms of Service.
By joining CoFramily — whether to buy, sell, post, or just browse — you agree to these terms. We wrote them in plain language because legalese helps no one. The short version: be kind, be honest, and don't make us regret trusting you.
1. Who can use CoFramily
CoFramily is for adults (18+) who homeschool or are exploring homeschooling. Parents, guardians, and educators welcome. If you're creating an account for a minor, stop — accounts for minors aren't allowed.
2. Your account
You're responsible for what happens under your account. Use a real email, keep your password to yourself, and tell us right away if someone else logs in as you. We're not liable for losses caused by unauthorized account use.
3. Marketplace rules
- List only items you actually own and have the right to sell
- Be honest about condition, edition, and what's included
- Price your own items — no price-fixing or coordinated gouging
- Complete transactions you agree to; communicate promptly
- No selling of recalled, pirated, or unsafe items
- No weapons, alcohol, tobacco, vapes, or adult content
4. Events
Event hosts are responsible for the accuracy of their event details and the safety of attendees. CoFramily provides a place to discover and coordinate — we're not the organizer, insurer, or supervisor. Parents attending events remain responsible for their own children.
5. Message board etiquette
Post like you'd talk to a neighbor over the fence. No harassment, no spam, no MLM pitches, no political flame wars. Disagree kindly. We're a homeschool community, not a debate club.
6. What you post stays yours
You keep ownership of the content you post (listings, photos, messages, event descriptions). By posting, you give CoFramily a limited license to display that content on the site so other members can see it. You can delete your content anytime.
7. Prohibited content
We can remove content and suspend accounts that include: hate speech, threats, doxxing, sexual content involving minors, scams, illegal goods or services, or anything that puts another member's safety at risk. When in doubt, don't post it.
8. Transactions, fees, and payments
When you sell through CoFramily, we charge an 8% seller fee (deducted before payout) and a 3% buyer service fee added at checkout. Payouts are processed within 2–5 business days after a completed transaction. Businesses that post services may be charged a listing or promotion fee as described at the time of purchase.
While we help enable transactions, CoFramily is not the seller of items listed by users and does not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of items or services. Responsibility for completing transactions, fulfilling orders, and resolving disputes rests with the users involved.
Any applicable service fees, commissions, or payment-processing charges are non-refundable unless required by law. We may, at our discretion, assist with dispute resolution but are not obligated to do so. If a transaction goes wrong, reach out via the contact form and we'll see what we can do.
9. Fees and paid services
Certain features of CoFramily require payment, including marketplace transaction fees and business listing subscriptions. By using these services, you agree to pay all applicable fees as described at the time of purchase.
The full breakdown of current fees — including marketplace commission, buyer service fees, business listing tiers, and promotional add-ons — is published on the Fees page. Fees may be updated from time to time; the amounts shown at checkout or in your account at the time of a transaction are the ones that apply. Paid subscriptions renew automatically until canceled, and you can manage or cancel them from your account settings at any time.
10. Disclaimer
CoFramily is provided "as is." We do our best to keep the site safe and useful, but we can't guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
11. Limitation of liability
If something goes wrong between you and another member (a bad transaction, a missed event, a disagreement), CoFramily isn't liable for those losses. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you've paid us in the past 12 months — which, for free members, is zero.
12. Termination
You can delete your account anytime from your settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or harm the community. When we do, we'll usually tell you first and explain why.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the community grows. We'll post changes here with a new date and email active members about anything significant. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the state where CoFramily is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in that state's courts.
